Environmental
Altau is committed to responsible environmental management of all of its activities to ensure that the environmental effects are either prevented or unavoidable impacts are minimised, and where possible, remediated to an acceptable standard. To achieve high standards of environmental performance we seek to:

• Satisfy all legal obligations imposed on the Company's activities through leases, licences, approvals, consents or notices
  
• Integrate environmental factors into planning of programmes
  
• Promote environmental awareness among Company personnel and contractors to increase understanding of environmental matters
  
• Design, develop and operate its facilities with a view to (a) reduce the impact of its operations, (b) provide efficient use of energy, water and other resources, (c) limit waste generation and disposal, and (d) dispose of wastes responsibly
  
• Progressively rehabilitate areas no longer required to support its operations using sound practical methods

Altau is committed to supporting community development in the local area through the provision of jobs and skills training, and to promoting local business opportunities. Altau values cultural heritage and has respect for the traditional rights of indigenous people.

Health & Safety
Altau strives to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and contractors. Policies have been developed to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and will be reviewed regularly with the aim of continually improving safety and health in the workplace.
